The most important thing

How the emotions that come up in trading can be used to make you happier, more profitable and as a template for your growth as a person. Im not sure anything matters more than this.

[00:00:00] Okay, this is a fun one for me because this is pretty much all I care about in my life right now And that sounds like a big statement, but it's honestly true. It's my important then everything else I do

[00:00:10] And that's heating my emotions and what does that mean? It means this is big for trading too This has been something I'm working on. I think most of us work on this are whole lives

[00:00:19] So to a larger extent, it's why we're here and I think it really helps you with your trading as well and you can use trading as as a vehicle to So help grow yourself personally and make everything smoother around you by using this

[00:00:33] really interesting career that provokes emotions of fear scarcity missing out on things comparison to others You for you enthusiasm all these different things that come up in you Are

[00:00:50] provoked by by life of course, right any job or any interaction with people but especially by trading more so than a lot of other fields Because of the constant feedback you're getting from your system all day long on how things are making you feel so

[00:01:04] I want to talk about where you feel at your body because that's a big deal. This is There's a lot of For some of you this is gonna be you're not in your head because you know the spiritual undertones of all this and for others

[00:01:17] Then might have no interest in that whatsoever and it's just as valuable I think because it's it helps you make more money and do better in your job and be happier And it's just finding out where something shows up in your body when it happens

[00:01:29] So I'm looking at a trade. I've put in a lot of effort into the trade and I think it's gonna go up I have all these reasons I've talked to some friends about it I'm waiting I get in I try it a couple times

[00:01:40] I lose a little more than I wanted and then it works out in the afternoon and just goes without me and I feel Pretty awful about myself because I did but I wanted but the feeling and it shows up in my gut

[00:01:51] It's just I can't be who I want to be. I felt like I it's unjustifiably There's no justification for me not catching that for all the work I put in is not fair Life's not fair trading is not fair and it's just overall in injustice

[00:02:07] That's how it can feel when it's extreme at least inside of me and I know a lot of you understand this pretty good and It's just as simply sit there and Breathe it out and just you're not stuffing it down

[00:02:19] You're not running and doing a walk or an exercise right away Which could be a good thing to not make a dumb trade after not reacting But the second part of it is not reacting. So it's really a simple process this emotion came up

[00:02:30] Can I not react to it by doing dumb trades and Can I not suppress it by just jamming it down inside and trying to hide from the fact that doesn't feel very good inside of me right now

[00:02:42] Because of which is happened of course anyone can understand that doesn't feel good But my bigger point is it doesn't matter which has happened all that matters is that you let that emotion come through you and Just have it today in the sun and once it does

[00:02:55] It's less in less and less every other time that comes up and you get stronger and stronger at not I've gotten Some of these feelings and my stomach when that happens to me used to be so strong

[00:03:07] I thought I was gonna physically vomit in a garbage can I sometimes almost get sick and I've gotten it to the point now Where of course it still bothers me, but it doesn't bother me. There is much and a lot of them

[00:03:17] Don't even register anymore. I just thought well I was trading too big or my spot wasn't good enough and some of you were already there and some of you are not and

[00:03:26] There's really no more important work you can do with the job than that because if you can do that You'll do that with your life with your wife with your partner with your kids and every single

[00:03:37] thing that happens in your life. It's the same thing so it's it's also the anger of another one that gets me is It's been so for a while I

[00:03:47] Want to make some money because I have been working every day and are trying to work or maybe not working because it's so slow And I'm itching to do and take some action, but there's no action to take and then something shows up

[00:03:59] So I'm over I'm over eager and I'm kind of all over it because it's been a while and I make a mess of it And then it works out similar to last one, but it's a little different. It's kind of like the It's the

[00:04:10] It's kind of like you looking at it going on dates and the first you know the first girl has adjusted into your all over Kind of a thing, but it might not be the best girl for you something like that and It's

[00:04:21] It just burns it's the same kind of thing it burns and you're gut in my brain your chest It's just laying it laying it play out laying it happen and not and not making a reaction or you trade and not

[00:04:31] Another thing I'll do is I'll tell my wife about it. I'll tell my friends about it This is when I was a little younger and it's almost like I'm festering and I'm building on that case

[00:04:41] And it's almost like I'm collecting the worst things that happened to me and keeping them inside Which is really a stupid way to live and You get this again and again again and you also get this with Bigger picture trading emotions about

[00:04:55] Zumi now and thinking about how it's been going and maybe comparing yourself to a friend and that can sometimes happen that a motion could be Lower in your body. It could be in your chest Just observing where does it happen like when I'm angry you know

[00:05:08] You can feel it in your chest or you want to lash out or you're just angry and when you're In a lot of them are the gut you're gonna find a lot of these trading ones are in your gut like your personal power center

[00:05:18] So everything and if you just can get really good at Letting them be And that doesn't mean letting them be is different than Trying to describe it the way away letting them be is different than

[00:05:31] Ignoring them or being numb because a lot of the things I used to do is I would go numb and pretend like nothing bothered me

[00:05:37] So I essentially give up the lowest part of my being but also give up the highest part of my being at the same time because I would numb out So I'm basically cutting off everything nothing can hurt me. Well, nothing can make me happy either

[00:05:49] I'm a robot right? I'm a Buddhist robot or whatever Like I did those time and retreating a bunch of times and that that's not what they're trying to teach by the way But that's often what you do after and you make a mistake and

[00:06:00] That's certainly not the path either. So it's like this thing about can you love yourself for having the experience because you're just an experience or of these trading Happens right your experience or of the market

[00:06:10] Can you allow it to just have it today and go away and sometimes it? It's really bad and it takes you a few days now often I'll take a couple days off and other times you rebound really quickly when you can get

[00:06:22] When you can get this down and These things are just keep coming up over and over and over again, but When you start to work with them like I'm talking about where you let them happen without

[00:06:32] Reacting or suppressing it's it's letting them happen like it's almost like an hour glass Right you tip it upside down that annoy you how long you're gonna take off So run out but I know that you're gonna run out and when you run out

[00:06:43] I'm not gonna feel this pain anymore There's painful going in it's painful coming out but once you let it run out without acting on it It just simmers it all down. It's just kind of quiet it down and Whew, it's kind of the work for me

[00:06:56] This is the work of my life because if I do this the job is much easier. It's just doesn't I don't even care what happens because I know I'm gonna handle it and feel okay and if I feel okay

[00:07:05] Then I tend to just be in the right spot I'm there when I need to be because I'm not compromised with anger or irritation so I can just

[00:07:15] See the trod I can see it. It's there. I can do it and I'm ready to do it because I'm you know I'm conscious and I think this starts this kind of work starts with traffic and Weather

[00:07:27] Complaining about the weather complaining about the jackass in front of you who's Going 20 in a 30 or where I live they lowered the speed limits universally Everywhere I've two and a survey low levels are complaining about that and it's like that's where you start working on it

[00:07:42] Use that as a time to relax you're upset about these stuff them have their day without honking or Reacting or telling everybody about it for the rest of the day and then just your irritation just gets lower and lower

[00:07:55] And it doesn't have to be irritation. It could be a multitude of things right? It could there could be Someone could have criticized you like I do podcasts and I do some videos and Sometimes on my videos

[00:08:07] I get five people saying great video then I get the six person saying this guy's an idiot. He doesn't show me any how tos and This guy didn't make any money what a waste of time and then you get a little bit of energy charge Like ooh, so

[00:08:21] Do I as a mic to do my feelings get hurt or do I think this guy just has no clue? Do I want to decide myself? Not on the above all the above it depends on the day right that stuff comes up

[00:08:34] Don't react to it. I'll allow it to happen to have its days Everyone has their opinion and then you move on and not everyone is gonna be for everyone and Just doing that again and again again over and over and eventually life

[00:08:46] Become so much easier and you're trading becomes more more More profitable because you're just you know what I mean when you're taking a vacation or something and you've come home You're at that magic place of I don't care. I'll just sit here. I don't really

[00:09:00] And stuff just shows up. You just seem to be there when you need to be there. It's almost not putless But you can get in that state all the time if you don't have your junk and garbage coming up

[00:09:09] Because you've beaten beaten yourself into the ground and I used to Beat myself up. You know, I'm a perfectionist. I work really hard I want to always demand the best out of myself

[00:09:20] And that's Roger Federer the tennis player used to be like that and he really ascended his level of play when he stopped doing that smashing his racket I'm getting with the Empire in so hard himself all the time Replaying everything in his mind

[00:09:34] But it's usually realized the total waste of time you only have the moment that you're in front of you and the other ones is Everyone knows this stuff, but it's it's a commitment This is a It's I wonder even consider this a rant. This is really

[00:09:47] The nothing could be more important than doing this because if you can do this well You're just you're just gonna give yourself the best possible shot to realize your potential Or realize your dream of having this career and whatever fast that you want part time

[00:10:04] Whatever kind of trade in you're doing. This is all the same stuff And this is why this job is so hard because people They're garbage kills them in this job and they do it to themselves

[00:10:12] And it's you can take this whole conversation and make it about life because it's super applicable to everything equally As it is trading as a matter of it's Again, I give up my life. I feel like something happened that

[00:10:27] Maybe I'm sure one of us feels like you know, they weren't treated the right way and there's that emotion that bubbles up of Here we go again. This isn't right and it doesn't really have anything you do with the outside person

[00:10:38] It's just stuff coming up in you that you've stored and you gotta release those little blocks And when you release them they don't happen again as much the next time they might take a while to release

[00:10:46] They might take one time they might take 50 times, but they eventually just they go away And if you come super clear super present and then you're just you're acting the way you want like at your highest level

[00:10:56] That's when you're in that flow state and that flow state is You kind of get there by accident sometimes, but You can put yourself in that state more and more by doing this work constantly. So it's

[00:11:09] It's this is deeper than a mind control so you could have mind control type stuff that helps to Positive thinking you know reframing or saying yourself okay well Everyone listening to this is gonna have to show me their trades and

[00:11:22] Maybe they're made public or whatever. Maybe not, but you're gonna throw someone else their trades And you have to be proud of what you've plotted on your chart that hey my trades are making me proud because you Unified lost I bought where I started was gonna buy

[00:11:34] I have good reasoning for it and if I keep doing this I'm gonna be a good trader I'm gonna be proud of myself I'm gonna feel good about what I did today Whereas when you're just sling in stuff because you're unconscious because you're reacting to your emotions

[00:11:45] Or you repressing your emotions you've gone numb and got quiet Which is just bad doesn't matter then you you have nothing to learn from that You can't plot those trades and learn because an unconscious person who was out of their mind made those trades

[00:11:59] There's nothing to learn from them because it's not yourself. That's like someone who went nuts and just a fight at school or something Right, you're not yourself So you've you have to stay in your mind or also can't so the whole mind control positive thinking

[00:12:12] It's helpful it's not as deep as Is observing the emotion laying in past which is the ultimate But it's it's helpful because you can say all right

[00:12:22] I want to be proud of myself at the end of the day that all these trades high plot are gonna be comfortable And that might stop you in real time from doing something stupid But at some point if you break that a few times

[00:12:31] You're gonna go unconscious and you go down a wormhole of that trades and also poof 15 trades later. You go right to your limit for the day of what you want to lose or it's a huge mess

[00:12:41] And we all that's why this is so hard because you might be successful for six months or a year and really in one or two days You wipe everything out the happens all the time to people

[00:12:50] I've had it happened to me where I wipe out a whole year in a week. I've done it It's You could say that should never happen to someone who's a professional who's done this for 20 plus years

[00:13:00] But it has happened and I've had luckily I've had a lot more upsides than downsides like that But I have had those things happened to me and It's terrible and you have to it builds you to it's just more self love and self

[00:13:14] Rebuilding and and basically doing exactly what I'm telling you on this podcast is what you're gonna end up doing It's the only way out It's that constant. It's a 24 or seven job

[00:13:25] And it's not just trading it's your whole life and until you do it you're going back to repeating what was happening before which And you can you could you can be successful overpower in this by being in a good market or have you things?

[00:13:39] You're early on something. Are you catcher? Of course, you could have success in be unconscious or to not do this work But to have longevity and to have peace and feel good and and also grow

[00:13:50] This is really the only way and your strategy is your strategy right but It matter what your strategy is this stuff is going to be there and it's so

[00:13:59] And the last podcast that I talked a little bit about someone my strategy that I always use and how I think Which is unique to me right now what I've learned in my particular skill sets

[00:14:09] So that everyone kind of has to bounce around and figure that out ask questions some people at you We have any questions about things and and I'm happy to talk about it and see how can you do what you do better? You're never gonna do what I do

[00:14:21] Because that's me, right so there's Everyone's a master of her niche but this this emotional thing about about observing where these emotions are Coming up and letting them kind of have their day before you react to them is Friceless, I mean it's really the only thing so

[00:14:36] I've kind of made it my my life to every moment of every day I'm just thinking about this every single time I don't feel great. It's okay This doesn't feel good. There's fear. There's scarcity. There's whatever this and

[00:14:50] Doesn't matter why but let's just see how long glass let's just be with it. Let's just let it happen today And it's super uncomfortable sometimes and but

[00:14:58] I feel so good when I let it do that without blowing up something else feels so I feel so proud of myself after and then There's like a rush of energy because it's it's past and

[00:15:09] I kind of get a payoff from that in next time it's now strong and It's really a beautiful thing when you can when you can do it more and more and I have my whole life to work on it

[00:15:20] But it just makes the job way easier. So that's Pretty much the point of this podcast
